Writing Wholeness

On the Carousel:

I've been here before

Once

Five times

Perpetually

An ouroboros

Swallowing the lessons

To be recycled

Tomorrow

Next year

Maybe in three days

It's a rhythm

I didn't think he'd dance

Never intended to teach him

The way I taught his predecessors

The way

No one taught me

To tiptoe past landmines

I send him to battle

Again and again

Asking him

Again and again

Pleading

Again and again

This carousel creeps

He doesn't budge

Doesn't flinch

I'm not strong enough to push

Not strong enough to jump

Around we go again
