Writing Wholeness

New post

On My Worth:

My anger is protective

Self-preservation

If I am screaming

I cannot sob

Wielding fists

Slashing tongue

The little girl

For whom none went to war

Now a woman

Eager for battle

So she can prove to herself

“They were wrong this whole time.”

Making warriors out of men

Who never signed up for battle

His silence an echo from my past

Sounding the alarm once again

Self-preservation

If I shoot first

I cannot be ambushed by abandonment

I lead the dance

On my mark

Get set

GO

Away from here

Away from me

The little girl

For whom none would stop time

Now a woman

Marking each minute he made her feel less than

“Men who have bled in battle

Have crawled at my feet

For just once chance”

Believe me when I say

I know exactly what the fuck I am

My anger is sacred

As it screams

I am worth it
